About
It is difficult to describe what makes tabletop wargaming so much fun. From a non-player’s point of view, watching grown men and women tense, scream, punch their fists into the air and bellow their frustration toward a bunch of miniatures after every dice roll doesn’t appear to be much fun at all.
I find what makes this hobby so enjoyable is the rich art and storytelling in the world of Warhammer 40,000. It is a story set in a time so far in the future that most science-fiction narratives don’t dare to approach, yet the stories of fleeting heroes and terrible evils paint a familiar world of hope against all odds.
The process of buying, building and painting each individual miniature is a labour of love. Seeing them struggle with the opponent, and have their fates determined by a roll of the dice is exhilarating, and can only be truly understood once you have experienced the entire process yourself.
If you are a war-gamer, I invite you to contribute to my blog with comments and suggestions that will always be welcome.
Garry
